From The Australian Theosophist,
Volume 9. No 3, July 15, 1931 ( June-July)
Dear Brethren,
May the blessing of the Masters rest on your work in Australia. Much of my future lies in that land, and the seed you are sowing there it will be my privilege and my happiness to reap when the time for harvesting arrives. Let us then look forward to that future which we shall share, for in due season we shall reap if we forget not that future.
Annie Besant
Ed. Note: this letter was sent to the Australian Section in 1931 from Annie Besant, then international President of the Theosophical Society. Many prominent theosophists came to and lived in Australia in the early years. C.W. Leadbeater, George Arundale, Rukmini Devi, Clara Codd, Geoffrey Hodson, Betsan Coats among others, lived and worked in Australia and of course Sandra Chase and Josephine Ransom grew up in this ancient land. Annie Besant states, “much of my future lies in that land”, reminding us that Australasia has an important place in the future evolution of human kind, and that much depends on the seeds we are planting now.
