The Knights Templar explored a new model of Christianity: the monk-knight archetype. After being persecuted, and killed, many escaped to Portugal. The Templars brought knowledge from the East that triggered the Portuguese Age of Discoveries.
About the Presenter
Catarina Moreira is a lecturer and researcher at the Quantum Interactions Group of the School of Information Systems at Queensland University of Technology. She has also worked as a lecturer and researcher in the Finance division of the School of Business at the University of Leicester, UK. She holds a Masters degree in Enterprise Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence (Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon, Portugal 2011).
In 2014, Catarina started her PhD with the thesis Quantum Probabilistic Graphical Models for Cognition and Decision in which she developed a Quantum-Like Bayesian Network that can predict and accommodate several paradoxical human decisions that violate the laws of classical probability theory and logic. In she was awarded the PhD with Pass with Honours and Distinction.
