Constitution of The Theosophical Society in Australia for a Company Limited by Guarantee

Company Constitution Aproved at the Convention Business Meeting January 2022 and Adopted on incorporation on 26 August 2022

Current Constitution of The Theosophical Society in Australia.

Most recent changes, comparison of Constitution with previous Rules 2020

All but one of the existing rules have been included in the new company constitution. Rule 27 Compulsory Superannuation has been deleted because it states only that the TS will pay compulsory superannuation, which the TS in Australia must in any case pay.

The only additional rules in the company constitution are mandatory, with one exception: Rules 13.7, 19.6, and 20.4 Meeting by Technology. This Rule responds to the means by which the National Executive and National Council have been meeting during the pandemic, and is consistent with the Corporations Act in its present form. The National Executive and National Council prefer to meet face to face wherever possible; but for various reasons it is not always possible to do so, especially given the geographic reach of the National Executive, the National Council, and the delegates voting at the Australian Convention Business Meeting.
